Shariq

Project:

Our research topic is “Effect of daily yogurt intake on blood pressure, body weight and waist measurement in hypertensive patients.” Hypertension is a major worldwide cause of premature deaths. The dilemma of this age is not so much as that of pharmaceutical value but of clinical value. Hypertension, the "silent killer", has no immediate, short term drastic consequences but is a chronic condition, patient compliance is particularly very important. So in lieu of aggressive medication and strict adherence routines, it seems a far better alternative to manipulate dietary intake in such a way that it is very much supportive, if not a replacement, to the drug intake. Yogurt, in this respect has shown sufficient promise and, icing on cake, is affordable and easily available. So with that basic aim in mind, our research will explore the response of yogurt in hypertensive patients. Godspeed Shariq!
